Leslie’s Care Packages was founded in 2016 by Vi Wood in memory of her late husband, Leslie. Vi turned her grief into purpose and her compassion into action. What began as a small act of remembrance has grown into a regional lifeline—providing practical support to individuals and families facing hardship. 

Now in its tenth year, the initiative has reached thousands of people—including those experiencing homelessness—with essential items such as food, toiletries, hygiene products, clothing, seasonal supplies, an so much more. In 2025, founder Vi Wood became a cancer survivor, further deepening her commitment to turning personal adversity into purposeful action. Her leadership has been recognised through several honours, including the Dudley’s Mayor’s Award and her selection as a Queen’s Baton Bearer. Vi’s story and the impact of Leslie’s Care Packages have been featured in local newspapers and radio stations, inspiring communities and partners alike.

Since 2016, we’ve delivered thousands of care packages filled with food, toiletries, Supermarket food vouchers, hygiene products, clothing, gas and electric top-ups, seasonal essentials—and so much more—to individuals and families facing hardship, including those experiencing homelessness. Every care package is personally delivered by founder Vi Wood, to ensure it reaches those who need it most—when they need it most. Leslie's Care Packages also places online orders and send supermarket vouchers digitally—ensuring help reaches swiftly, even when face-to-face delivery isn’t possible. Vi is proud to serve communities across the West Midlands with compassion, discretion, and practical help that makes a real difference. Leslie’s Care Packages has reached communities across the Black Country and beyond—including: Wolverhampton, Darlaston, Walsall, Tipton, Bilston, Coseley, Smethwick, Quinton, Halesowen, Sedgley, Cradley Heath, Netherton, Kidderminster, Bewdley, West Bromwich, Birmingham, and Oldbury.
